Cross-country skiers use a grip wax (also called "kick wax") for classic-style waxable skis to provide traction with static friction on the snow that allows them to propel themselves forward on flats and up hills. It can be messy, but we're here for that.
_x000D_Our kick wax service starts by preparing the ski. The ski is cleaned of all old kick wax and dirt, and then the kick zone is roughed up with fine sandpaper to help the wax adhere to the ski.Â
_x000D_Once prepared, the kick-zone is treated with a binder layer. This layer provides a platform for subsequent layers and binds the entire wax application to the ski, increasing durability.
_x000D_Finally, grip wax is layered over the binder layer to match the conditions you'll be skiing in.
